Spineboards
Spineboards come in a variety of shapes, materials, sizes and colours, but are essentially a rigid, x-ray-lucent inflexible boards on which an injured person can be placed or transported.
A minimum of four straps are required to secure the injured person of the spineboard, and two-piece straps are preferred as these can be affixed to the stretcher itself so that they do not go missing when it is stored away.
Plastic snap-lock buckles are also preferred, as metal seat-belt types are subject to corrosion and blockage with sand or dirt.
