Scoop stretchers
Scoop stretchers are designed to be positioned without the necessity of log-rolling injured person, though they can always be used as a regular spineboard.
These stretchers have a locking mechanism at both ends which allows them to be either split entirely into two halves, or “scissored” from a pivot point at one of the ends, depending on the position of the injured person and the most efficient way to move the stretcher around the injured person .
The idea is to minimise the movement of the injured person by “scooping” them into the stretcher.
