Haines Position (no equipment)

An improvement on the recovery position is the HAINES position.

The letters are used to signify the positioning of the bottom-most arm underneath the injured person in a straight and extended position, allowing the head and neck to be aligned along it thuspreventing flexion, rotation and lateral flexion.
